This movie is essentially if Parasite was written and directed by Sam Levinson (from Euphoria, The Idol, etc.) and I mean that in the most disparaging, insulting way possible. Yet another example of a movie that wants to appear “adult” so hard that they actively ruin any sort of mystery about the main character and his intentions by making him a sexual pervert. Scenes like that should have a purpose beyond simple shock value, but in this movie they make any of the twists that later come much less impactful.
Here’s a lesson to up-and-coming filmmakers: If you want to include scenes that make the audience uncomfortable, there should be a reason for it that serves the narrative of the story.
