Eternals had both positives and the negatives like any other movie, but my experience in the movie theatre was basically a repetition of "okay, now who is this character?"..."did they just kill off that character I just started getting to know?" combined with "so...are we going to move on with the plot or should we continue to watch characters giving one another knowing looks?" "Was that scene necessary for the story? It looks like it was filmed to show diversity but why am I paying this much money to be watching endless dialogues of DC type-morality, questioning the existence and etc etc.
It was the plot and the progression that made the movie hard to enjoy. The story killed off one of the bad guys (were there multiple bad guys?) as if it was a minor character while it had such great "bad guy" potential. I think the movie failed to glorify the Eternals for who they are as compared to humans. And so, we were left to watch the Eternals characters wanting to be human more so than seeing how eternals are different from humans to start off with. It had so much potential! I was so bummed because I would watch the trailers over and over again with anticipation.
