Sorry for copying and pasting this review, but I feel the same as the person who originally wrote it.
Before I begin writing about this movie, I want to say that I have immense respect for Malayalam cinema. I first heard about this film because of Mr. Unni’s mass scene. Then I watched the movie. I have seen many of Unni Mukundan’s films in Malayalam and Telugu, and I really appreciate the variety of characters he portrays.
However, this time, I felt truly disappointed after watching the movie. Mr. Unni usually selects good scripts and delivers great performances on screen. In Marco, the first half was decent—the action scenes and Unni’s entry were fine. But the second half, especially the climax, was extremely brutal, where the entire family was killed. I was shocked that the censor board approved such violent scenes. I have never seen this level of brutality in any Indian film.
How could someone kill a child using a gas cylinder and smash their face? How could they tear a woman’s mouth? How could a villain push a baby out of a mother’s womb? Only a director who lacks compassion for society could create such scenes.
Please do not watch this movie with your family—children should not be exposed to such violence. I understand that mass hero films generate a lot of revenue, but no movie should depict such extreme physical violence.
My humble request to the filmmakers: please do not include such disturbing scenes in movies. How could anyone show an umbilical cord being cut with a knife in such a cruel manner?
Mr. Unni, please consider removing or blurring these scenes from Marco. I hope you take this into account. I would love to continue watching your films with my family in the future.
