'The Adventures of Tintin,' originally known as "Les Aventures De Tintin" is an old French comic series created by Hergรฉ, who's real name is Gorges Prosper Remi. 'The Adventures Of Tintin' was published as a small comic strip in a newspaper called "Le Petit Vingtiรจme" in 1929, but more recently in 2011, Steven Spielberg created the Live Action Animation "The Adventures Of Tintin: The Secret Of The Unicorn."
The Secret of the unicorn is a very well-made work of art. Itโs a great children's film, not only for children but for the family too, and every single time we play the DVD, I squeal because honestly, nothing could enlighten my eyes more.
One of my favourite things about this film is that Speielberg uses the power of lighting very well. Especially when Tintin is being held hostage on the ship at night. Since it is nighttime, the scene is quite dark, but the lights shine and reflect from all the right places on a ship, letting us still be able to see the scene and be hyper realistic. The lighting also helps give a more intense mood which is exactly what we are looking for. I really loved it when Tintin shot the ship's searchlight to save himself - the way the sparks flew as the bullet hit the handle, and the way the light shone and all you could see were the silhouettes of the men running after Tintin. Itโs all just a chef's kiss.
The animation is so smooth and hyper realistic that you can hardly tell that itโs not real. The movements of the characters are so smooth and realistic, and they flow like a river. It isnโt awkward, and I was so happy to see the characters come out of the book and into 3d people. I could've cried tears of joy. What's even better is the quality of the hair animations. The animators captured Tintinโs iconic ginger quiff beautifully, and it tickled my brain in the best way possible when the wind blew through Tintinโs quiff as he drove the roofless car towards the end of the film
