The message of this movie:
Even in the darkest times when the world is ending and there's no hope to be seen, if you have the strength to never give up, there is always hope. If you stay hiding in a cave, you'll be safe for a moment, but its only temporary and you will ultimately be destroyed. You must face danger and uncertainty in order to truly live.
A real man is courageous and risks his ego by being honest with his shortcomings that he realizes in uncertain times. When the ego is destroyed, he does not live fearfully anymore thinking of only preserving his wellbeing and dragging everyone around him down to his cave, but he leads others to live in the light and is willing to sacrifice himself for that. Because he has self worth, he also sees the true worth in others and has an unwavering belief that they all can make it. It can get lonely and difficult at times but he will gladly embrace it so that his loved ones can experience the light.
The fact that this message is conveyed in a movie where humans are beginning to evolve intellectually is a trip.
This movie is deceptively a fun animated childrens movie. If you did not realize that it has a deep and profound message about human life, you're probably a caveman.
