This movie was fantastic. I think people give it a hard time because it's hard to like something that you've already enjoyed. Like johnny depps charlie and the chocolate factory. I've tried watching that movie 4 times and couldn't get through it and I think it's because I cant stop comparing it to Gene Wilders, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate factory (far superior in my mind).
If Wyatt Earp came out before Tombstone I feel it would have been far more successful.
I was fortunate enough to actually see Wyatt Earp before Tombstone and lets just say I could only make it about halfway through that B movie. The acting was a joke in my mind. I much prefer the slower paced more authentic Wyatt Earp.
I think the majority of critics gave Wyatt Earp such a hard time because they were expecting perfection similar to that of Dances With Wolves. Ill admit that it isnt as good as John Dunbar and the aboriginals but I didnt feel it was too far off.
Dennis Quaid steals the show for this movie. People say he lacked humor but again, that is a comparison to Tombstone.
I loved Wyatt Earp and have seen it probably 6 or 7 times (even though it is 3 hours long).
I highly recommend watching it if you havent seen it.
