The acting is great and I understand what the cultural climate was like during the late 70's, I know I'm supposed to like this film for its artistic integrity but this film reeks of sexism. To me, films like this are basically sneaky conservative propaganda infiltrated into society as a way to portray in a gratuitously violent way, what happens to a woman who frees herself from a bunch of angry men. Diane Keaton is beloved and recently died. This film made me as angry as I was when Lars Von Trier had the nerve to hang Bjork at the end of Dancer in the Dark. Same motive I'm sure.
