You’ll forget about your distractions from the opening scene and not remember them until long after this movie is over.
There’s something about the flow of time in either direction that gives humanity our “if only I’d known” feeling in our gut after something has happened. Regret, grief, obsession, little clues from the past that only make sense after the fact or in some cases, before the fact.
The movie starts out with one person reaching the end of their journey while the others is just starting. As they move through time together in different directions one is learning from the future while one is moving into the past. Until they reach the end of one’s journey which is only the beginning…
