As someone who was in a long relationship with a Narcissistic emotional abuser, I could relate to a lot of this. They chip away at who you, are and isolate you. Him showing up and making the dinner was his show that he is a great guy. Textbook. It may seem boring to some but it's a good lense at how it all happens and no one knows.
