It is funny, but characters are very much like caricatures of themselves. Fake Southern accents, preachers who curse when not in public, a gay brother who is obvious to everyone, but who is keeping it in the closet. Private jets, mansions, subservient wife, cheating husband, bilking money out of the flock, drug and alcohol use as normal life, etc., etc. , etc. It's overwritten, it's overacted, it's stupid...but has enough laughs to keep your interest. Danny McBride is Danny McBride...nothing new here, just trying too hard and being over the top as usual.
