First of all, Michelle Pfieffer and Denis Leary are frightening. The movie is horrible, like actual garbage, but the plastic surgery is worse. Is it just me or does the Hollywood crowd look more alien like every day?
This movie could have been good. Unfortunately, there were maybe 2.5 likable characters. The oldest daughter is extremely self centered and rude, until the mom disappeared, and then she turned into the mother, which was weird. The middle daughter (who I'm assuming is Michelle Pfieffer's real daughter based on the mouth), she's possibly the most unlikable character I've ever seen in a Christmas movie. The son seems cool, except for the fact that he's a 20's something year old man with no job. The son in law is a simp who cares more about his relationship with his Bee-atch of a sister in law than his children. Denis Leary's Character is underdeveloped and has one job, which he, of course, can't complete (because this is a woman's world). RIP Barbie dream house. And Claire, oh Claire. She is the epitome of the narcissist mother. She's not only unlikable, I found myself rooting against her. The most likeable character is Lizzie.
The Zazzy stuff is... supposed to be the movie climax but falls so, so flat. Overall, I'd skip it. The actors honestly didn't do a poor job (minus their faces struggling to move), but the script is unapologetically awful. The only thing I took away from this was, I wonder how gorgeous Michelle Pfieffer would be with her real face.
