Just....bad. No chemistry between Efron and Kidman. Kidman was miscast in this role. Why does she have yellow hair? The daughter over-acted throughout. Kathy Bates was a gem, as always.

Sorry to say this (as a Seinfeld fan), but the credits were better than the movie. I was raised in the 60's, recognized all the throwback tropes, and just...didn't laugh. Oh how I wanted to! Great actors (Peter Dinklage!) and comedians (I'm looking at you Ms. McCarthy!) and I still couldn't choke out a chuckle. Save yourself an hour and a half, and click past this one. One star for the A-list ensemble.
