GBO2 is, at it's core, a good Mobile Suit combat game. And the core is solid. It's everything else that makes it... Suck.
Acquiring units to use is predominantly done through a "Gacha" lottery. If you want a shiny new machine you can roll for it. If you didn't get it you can buy tokens, but each roll is about 3$ in tokens. You're also very likely to get the same low-rarity machines and weapons for machines that you don't even own. Constantly. It takes over a year for a new item to be available to just buy directly from the game without praying for it by the lottery.
Beyond the issues Gacha games in general present, we have gameplay. The gameplay has a good foundation that is completely ruined by latency issues. Shots that clearly miss you and fly past your screen will hit you some time after they're gone. Attacks will sometimes pass through enemy hit boxes with no effect at all. Invulnerability times will vary wildly for no reason. The "counter tackle" and "dodge roll" mechanics are so inconsistent that they're basically random. But they're also very critical to gameplay, which is just awful.
I want to like this game. I really, really do. At its base it's a good game. But there are so many huge issues that even as a longtime Gundam fan, I just can't. There is far too much wrong here for actual enjoyment, and that's a shame.
