It wAs good overall, but the King and Queen needed more character development. Am I the only one who found it off that the Queen went along w the King's swindling of wishes until it effected her personally, then she turned on him? Honestly, she should not be Queen. I was hoping to see a scene in which the King stole her wish too. Her wish for him to give up magic or something deeper. Wish had great ideas but failed to deliver a satisfying ending.

Too much drama, not enough action or story line. Eli, Chloe are at the bottom of my likeable characters list. As is Lt Scot... Enough of the Young and Rush disagreements. Just get along and move the story along. Don't get me started on the body switching idea... The female scientist got a talking to from Eli when others needed it more. I wasn't a fan. Watch it for yourself.

I hate Dr. Keller and Rodney's codependent parent-child relationship. Rodney is too whiney, rude to others, and self-centered to be with this nice doctor who willingly takes care of him. His lack of any permanent character growth makes Canadians look bad, especially when paired w Dr. Weir. Being smart has NEVER given ANYONE the right to dismiss/ treat others like garbage. I hate the stereotypes I see in many characters like Teyla who deserved better roles! For a leader of her people, she did a terrible job at protecting and leading them. Also, she's the hottest female character on the entire show, but because she was too mature for any of the main male characters, the writers threw her under the Mom bus and forgot about her. Ronon (Future Aquaman) also needs better character writing. John Sheppard, American Cowboy GI Joe, was best when doing serious military missions and NOT when he was pretending be CPT Riker from Star Trek, Next Gen. And the pirate queen, UGH! I wish the writers allowed Teal'c to put Ronon in his place by defeating him and NOT tying w him. He and Rodney must learn humility. Overall, not bad

This is truly a modern adaptation to Austen's novel, yet I am not a fan of the over-the-top displays of emotions. Anne's monologues were annoying. I hated that her opening scene suggests that she has both a drinking and depression problem. Her attitude feels sarcastic and not genuine. I loved the Anne from the older films. She didn't talk-down about her family even though they did not treat her well. The Anne of the older films was strong, self-composed, and helped as often as she did because she genuinely enjoyed helping people, which is why she learned nursing. (Anne's being a war-time nurse in the older film was a huge fact left out of the new adaptation.) Anne loved her family despite their flaws and helped them both out of obligation and love. She knows her family would fall to ruins without her. By the end, she learns that loving her family doesn't mean carrying their responsibilities for them. Also, Louisa and her sister & Anne's mother's friend are NOT meant to be likeable characters. The idea behind the old Persuasion is that Anne lives in a world where no one appreciates the sacrifices she makes for her family. She is ignored and written off as an 'old maid'. Once Wentworth left, she threw herself into helping her family and nursing. She put aside her emotions to able focus on others. The modern movie is overall pretty good. There are many more likeable characters and Anne seems to have more supportive people around her. Anne herself is likeable (in a sarcastic modern college-girl way) and regrets being talked out of marrying Wentworth by a well-meaning mother figure. (Note, she refused Wentworth originally for the sake of her father who is terrible w money and women of that time period couldn't legally hold property.) This film felt more like Pride and Prejudice with K. Nightly than Persuasion. I encourage everyone to watch it to form their own opinions because that's what Reviews are for. Sharing opinions.
