The movie is entertaining enough as an action spectacle, but it hardly feels like a Predator film. The tone is overly comedic, stripping away the dark, suspenseful atmosphere that made the originals so iconic. Even the Predator itself feels off — redesigned, reimagined, and behaving more like a generic sci-fi creature than the silent, terrifying hunter that defined the franchise.
It’s clear the filmmakers aimed to broaden the audience, focusing on nonstop action and flashy visuals rather than the slow-burn tension and primal fear that once made Predator unique. As a result, Badlands delivers plenty of noise and movement, but very little of the essence that fans came for. I was expecting something far more faithful — darker, grittier, and true to what the Predator should be.
