So, Iโm trying to evaluate this show upon its purpose of being from multiple perspectives, and open to suggestions. This show was brought to my attention from someone who asked my opinion.
I attempted to watch this show, and personally, I donโt find this entertaining. I kinda see it as sad. Everyone has a different sense of humor, but I just cannot find humor in any part of this show.
At first I saw miranda, and her family as narcissisticโฆ aside from her sister.
Miranda:
It appears to me that Miranda is autistic.
There were many signs (especially social developmental, such as social ques) that she exhibited behaviors that would match the diagnosis.(Miranda has not received the help that others with autism do and should receive, regarding a necessary coping skills and living with it.)
There are numerous counts of Miranda making unrealistic and unempathetic choices, guided by those with good intentions, attempting to help.
However, assisting her to a life of being disrespected, ridiculed and having low self esteem as time with a toxic environment suggests.
Itโs clear to see Miranda was completely unaware of realistic expectations and her own emotional dis regulation.
In conclusion, I believe that she struggles and would continue to struggle with delusion oriented from her familyโs perspectives and interests, instead of teaching her how to make her own
speculations of life in itself.
Mother:
Mirandaโs mother seems to struggle with
Codependency and possible hypochondria. This is exhibited by her constant manipulation of others that she has a (undiagnosed) disorder that disables her from physical capabilityโs in order to receive attention from others.
Could be from: not having felt seen or heard in her early development, that she received from childhood, growing into adulthood.
He character shows she has untreated deep psychological trauma.
Emily:
Seeks independence and attention. Considering, Miranda has always had special needs and mothers untreated mental illnesses. Emily, more than likely has had to take on more responsibilities than a child should have growing up. Being the responsible and most mature of the family has kept her from being able to lead her own life.
Uncle Jim:
Character is very spontaneous and unpredictable. I generally donโt know what to say regarding this character. However, my guess is that he love Miranda very much. He relives his youth and dreams through Miranda. He clearly had many many obstacles in his life that were embarrassing and challenging that molded into his unconventional and childish reality. He played a large influence in most of Mirandaโs development and wants to live vicariously through her instead of pursuing any interests of his own.
