Self-involved adults treat parenting as an inconvenient part-time job and their kids as a series of problems to be solved. Oh my goodness it’s bad. I’ve never felt the need to publicly rate a show before, but the network needs to cancel this turkey so these poor actors can move on to better projects. The essential concept, the characters, their dynamics, and the tone add up to a show so fundamentally flawed it’s never going to be funny. Not only didn’t I laugh once, I felt an unsettling undercurrent that quickly turned into actual revulsion.
