Mechwarrior 5 with DLC's is pretty good by itself, 3/5 (see below)
Fairly accurate to Battletech setting, almost like First person version of Harebrained Schemes Battletech ( Which is excellent for those who love strategy gaming )
Graphically it's pretty sharp, the enemies are decently animated, the battlegrounds are rather generic however. Damage details and explosions are nicely done. Customizing your own mercenary outfit in almost every aspect, scraping by until you can get that next nice goodie, salvaging equipment from the field makes you want to choose very carefully, for your financial and physical survival depends on it.
Takes a bit to used to the control scheme. On PC, Mouse and Keyboard is definitely preferred over controller, hands down. Barring that the controls are fairly tight and responsive.
** Where this game truly shines to a 4.75/5
The modding community has turned this into a polished gem.
Turning "Meh" into wondrous (vonBiomes - I am looking in your direction)
The YAML, YAMM family of mods and the like are definitely recommended, as well as the Cavaliers Expansion. These expand and enhance every aspect of this title.
