First let me say- PLEASE read the trigger warnings before you start this book.
I finished this book 10 minutes ago.
I cried so many times throughout.
It is a beautifully written story, with conversations that humanity needs to have, yet is afraid to have.
I became so immersed in the characters.
I laughed when they laughed, I cried when they cried, I hurt when they hurt.
I will say, the writing style is a bit odd.
It took me the first 4 or 5 chapters to really get used to it. After that, it flowed very easily for me.
This is one of the most brilliant books I have ever read. I highly recommend this to people who are looking for a thought provoking, healing, and heartbreaking read.
***Minor spoiler****
Having similar trauma and experiences to Jude, this book made me feel less alone.
The self hatred, insecurities, selfishness, PTSD, depression, self harm, etc, etc was so accurately portrayed for me.
I appreciated that immensely.
If you have experience with ANYTHING listed above, please read the TW.
Take care of yourself first and foremost.
But this book is a masterpiece. I would highly recommend it.
