I am a huge Lee Child fan. I have read every book in order. I eagerly await the arrival of the new book every November. In August, I scour the internet for the name of the new book so I can keep an eye out for it in bookshops. I read somewhere that Lee Child wanted to retire from being a novelist. Rather than lay Reacher to rest, he handed the baton onto his brother Andrew who does the lions share of the writing these days. And it shows. This book is boring. The Reacher character is clunky and the story is tedious. I think Lee Child may have been better to take some advice from the book's title. Rather than keep writing when he wanted to retire, a better alternative would have been to quit altogether. Reacher would be "Better Off Dead " than portrayed in it's current format. Suggestions for alternative authors to read appreciated because I think this will be my last Lee Child book.
