I found the ending unexpectedly brilliant, especially given the awful reviews. I anticipated anger at Sharon Tate's depiction, and the overall way that her friends were protrayed.
I didn't expect it would leave me wondering "What movie did they watch?" about the critics, with the possibility of "Were they really angry about the disrespect toward the victims? or was it more the disrespect toward the Manson tribe that had them so upset?"
Because the only ones to be given a tragic rewrite of reality, were the stories of murderers themselves..
And to perfectly sum up why critics are not the final line on what is worth watching.. If Once Upon a Time In Hollywood is considered respectful for allowing her to live, in some humorous way, because the Manson brood were fools- why is it not equally respectful if not moreso, for empowering Tate and friends with premonition and eventual control of the actual tragic situation?
