S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl

As a fan who has been playing since 2009, I just had to go see it whether I was pleased with the cast or not. I went into the movie expecting them to get a few things wrong. They did, but I was not expecting it to be any story that we've seen from the game, and was looking at it as just a movie that was inspired by the game. With that in mind, I was actually entertained from start to finish. The Good: Decent action scenes, good scenery, and some funny parts that made me laugh a couple times. The things they got right from the game were pretty satisfying to watch as a fan. I know this movie got a bad rep early on, but it's not that bad. I think Lilith did the best in terms of acting like her character. Infact, they all did. Even though Kevin Hart is far from looking like Roland, I could see Roland behaving like that. The Bad: I took 1 star away for it not being accurate with the character backgrounds. I just couldn't help but notice the errors, and the role of Tanis in the movie, in my opinion, the worst take of Tanis. Unrecognizable. Honestly I could deal with the other cast, they were close enough in acting terms. Also took 1 star for the storyline. It was good for the most part, but the end battle and lead up to it was a little too awkward for me. I don't want to spoil anything, but it was just not that climactic. Maybe a couple of more scenes of explaining and getting to know the characters would have tied everything together. In conclusion, this is not a bad movie and I could watch it again. Good effects and cool settings. Just don't expect it to be just like the game. Plot needs a little extra. Maybe some more blood. They missed big time on characters' backgrounds and getting the cast to match their looks, but I was entertained and not disappointed in the actual acting/movie. 7/10. Watchable. There are worse movies out right now with better ratings.
