F1 22 is a great addition to Codemaster's F1 Games. But...
EA.
The influence of EA is clear in the games, with the addition of F1 LIFE and Supercars, soundtracks, and a very "EA" menu. Microtransactions come in the form of PitCoin. But moving on to the gameplay itself, that's where I really like this game.
The graphics are spot on, nice shadows and backgrounds. Unlike any other game, there isn't a blurry image found if you look closely into the background, instead, the scenery remains clean as ever. However, the car itself looks too animated in my opinion.
The gameplay has drastically changed due to 2022's new regulations and cars. As soon as you start driving, you can feel how understeery and heavy the new cars are, and the devs did an amazing job of implementing that.
F1 LIFE feels a bit unnecessary, and I don't think F1 fans were expecting that, including me. I was hoping for a new feature for racing itself. MyTeam and Career are pretty much the same other than department events and starting points. I haven't tried VR yet.
Overall, with new tracks and menus, F1 22 seems like a definete improvement and fun to play, just like F1 2021. However, nothing drastic has changed, and I think people were wanting a big change. I would reccommend to those who want to have new cars and have fun with updated content, but those who only want to spend money on a huge and rebuilt game, wait for a sale.
