Hey
I saw "black phone 2" other day. Hadn't seen the first one. Went in blind, and thought it was intriguing, slow build up (when it seemed haste would have been the course of action, which was curious), set mainly on one location, which built atmosphere. There were intense moments and jump scares, usually during sleepwalking / sleep state.
I enjoyed the play on wake / sleep state and how ghosts can communicate more during sleep? Or if any previous trauma allowed / motivated ghosts to pursue, or have more power to those who were connected with, and awake characters would watch sleeping characters act out their dreams / nightmares they were having wherever these ghosts were?
Most curious of all is I noticed there was some exploration looking at emotion & trauma within each character; anger, fear, addiction.. and being challenged to look deeper, let go, feel the pain - to be free externally and internally?
Also some decent amount of gore / violence and harrowing scenes too
