I’m several years late on my watch of this film but holy shit! Absolutely blew me away! I watched with my sister and we were very intrigued by the ominous atmosphere right from the start. The way Tomaz’s character was introduced lead to an initial trust in him as a “good man” and really lent itself to the twist of the despicable act revealed later. Such as it occurs in life, SA can be perpetrated by men that women think they can trust and without any justice. The revelation of the revenge plot at the end blew my mind! Romola Garai made a masterpiece for woman horror fans. When many horror films use women characters in degrading and sexist ways, Garai has given us an alternative story of vengeance against the wrongs of evil men.
