The acting is amazing and Hannah carried the game, but the plot holes are in abundance. There are multiple articles discussing these holes in the writings so I won't go into detail. The dialogue with certain characters are problematic with no purpose, it feels just plainly uncomfortable. It markets itself as a game you can just jump into but I wouldn't suggest it. It heavily relies on the first game down to the letter. It reenacts the first game from the plot to the characters and the roles they play but in a very much discounted way. It also completely disregards the choices you've made in previous games. They like to imply this game is about coping with trauma and I'd like to believe that, but with how poorly written and directed it was I couldn't properly tell. It felt like it lacked any real artistic vision and clear story unlike the predecessors. LIS 1/2 were worlds built with care, relationships developed over time. But DE misses that mark widely, the relationships you form in this game feel rushed and jarring, even from D9s previous game True Colors. This game fails to capture any true semblance of story, relationship, and relatability. It feels like a cash grab using a character the Fandom loved dearly. It's ashame. Not to mention a gross overcharge of a DLC with a considerable lack of content.
