I loved “Scarlett” and consider it the true sequel to GWTW. Ripley captures Scarlett’s character very well, while also giving her room to grow and change as she ages and has new life experiences. It’s not perfect by any means, and readers cannot expect Ripley to be another Margaret Mitchell, but Ripley gave GWTW lovers what they asked for, which was more of our favorite couple, and a mostly happy ending! “Scarlett” was a MUCH better sequel than McCraig’s “Rhett Butler’s People”, and you can tell that Ripley truly put her heart into keeping the characters we love as themselves while also introducing us to many more colorful characters in a brand new setting.
