I recently finished this book in class, and I was in awe at the ending. Though I found the plot to lack an obvious flow (which gives it a semblance of realism bc life doesn't necessarily have a flow) the psychological aspect and message behind the story made up for it.
I found myself getting attached to the characters for how real and distinct they were, from their mindset to their internal struggles. The story taught me about the ugly truth of beauty standards, trauma and elitism that could affect anyone from all walks of life.
The dark humour combined with the theme was also the cherry on top. "He has the eyes of a lifeguard who lets people drown". 10/10 would recommend readers.
