Taken to see it by daughters, both of whom are in their 20's. Interesting twists by Emerald to traditional plot, fabulous quality of singing, acting, costumes, makeup, hair, lighting and staging. All the characterisations were delightful and special credit to the Step Mother, Queen, Sisters, Sebastian and Cinderella...but the other members of the cast were superb too.
Only negatives were that there was crude name-calling, frequent, very sexualised hip thrusting and gesticulation (and graffiti) - all totally unnecessary and irritating - and not sure quite why the male dancers were in semi-bondage and lederhosen outfits!! The sexualisation and crudeness made it highly unsuitable for children and maybe some adults and just such a shame
Were it not for the above, I would recommend you go see it!
