Not as good as the original. Azula doesn’t act like Azula. Iroh isn’t the positive, soft spoken, bubbly old man. Aang is lacking his innocence. Katara is the most accurate, but needs to be more motherly. Sokka is missing his comedic flare and smooth talking personality. Hei Bai is the most accurate. Zuko is decently captured. The story, while containing mostly the same elements, is told differently. King Bumi isn’t funny haha mad, he’s angry mad. A lot of the charming stories feel like they’re forced into the plot and overlap, but stray too far off the path. It’s a good show and far better than the movie (that we pretend doesn’t exist/don’t claim it). The bending is good, but Aang being able to hold a giant boulder with air bending isn’t accurate. Though, spot on with casting Abed, I mean, Danny Pudi as the mechanist. It visually looks like Avatar the Last Airbender and it has similar feel, but feels more grown up which imo makes me sad. Not bad. But not good. It’s just “fine”. Hopefully they can correct it by season two
