Maybe the first and only show in television history to focus exclusively on Black love and particularly the black teenage experience in the inner city without feeling pressured to shoehorn a white character in to placate the advertisers. We see black people having fun, living and learning from their everyday adversities and crime is an element of the story line but it does not dominate the proceedings like other black themed shows such as "Power". A recent episode of season 6 had both my wife and I in tears and it had been a long time since I could say that.
