Personally, I love this adaptation. I liked the donghua because it had a good, steady pace with no scene time wasted, so I'm really glad the live action followed suit. Although this adaptation is a little different from the novel and the donghua, the story itself doesn't lose any of its impact. I'm also absolutely amazed by the cast chosen for each role, and how much they put into their characters. The cinematography and the set designs are pretty amazing (I do have to mention that after watching the donghua, I HAD expected the live action to be a bit more colorful). But, overall, I really enjoyed every moment of the 40 episodes. I expect this will probably end up being one of the best feel-good dramas I got to watch this year.
