The Penguins of Madagascar was an amazing movie about the secret lives of the four penguins: Skipper, Kowalski, Private, and Rico, from the three previous Madagascar movies and the Penguins of Madagascar TV show. In the movie, the penguins try to thwart the evil octopus, Dave’s (John Malkovich), plan to kill all penguins in the world due to a traumatic childhood experience. Meeting the elite animal spy group the North Wind along the way, this turns out to be the craziest adventure for the penguins yet. This movie is a fun adventure with unexpected chase scenes and humor. This movie is most suitable for ages 8+ due to small violence.

Minions: The Rise of Gru was a backstory on the main character of the three Despicable Me movies directed by Pierre Coffin and Chris Renaud. In my opinion, this was the worst movie in the Despicable Me franchise which included Despicable Me (2010), Despicable Me 2 (2013), Minions (2015), and Despicable Me 3 (2017). The main theme of this movie was to be evil, support being evil, and to follow in the footsteps of a group of evil masterminds. I think that this movie is most suitable for ages 8.7+.

Marcel the Shell with Shoes On was an amazing, heartwarming story about a lonely shell and his grandmother trying to find a way to survive without the rest of their family. This story teaches you to find your own way to do what you need to do. It was an amazing movie adaptation of Dean Fleischer-Camp’s previous Marcel the Shell with Shoes On YouTube short films. The voices done by Jenny Slate (Marcel) and Dean Fleischer-Camp (Dean) were amazing and they each showed so much emotion. I think that this movie is appropriate for all ages.
