Looking at this from an entertaining point of view I thought it was good. The visuals are fantastic too.
If you were hoping for something like Band of Brothers then you'll probably be disappointed. The characters are obvious and more importantly most likely to be nowhere near what they would have been in reality, which makes for poor viewing. The scene where they get into a fight with their British comrades for eg. would be more relevant in a Top Gun movie and make it seem ridiculous!
These were kids straight from school mostly, RAF or USAAF, and were probably nervous, keen to learn and scared for their lives. Not fighting in pubs with each other.
I wanted to see real stories, of real people that I could relate to, not Hollywood nonsense, and why are British people always made out to be the bad guys? I don't get it.
