The film is drama and fantasy and has a lot of dark humor. Despite not reading the book, viewers will still understand the plot of the film. The main casts includes Jim Carrey which is one of the greatest actor in Hollywood and has great acting in his prime. He effectively act his role as Count Olaf in the film and makes me root for the three siblings. Carrey is undeniably funny and he makes me also hate him being the evil character, but that just because his acting is so believable. It makes me angry and laugh when Jim Carrey had two or three characters in this film because of how he pretend and disguised to some individuals in the film and the adult can't recognize him. I remember the feeling of frustration when Baudelaires are being passed down from guardians to another guardians because of Count Olaf. I like the different characteristics of the Baudelaires namely Violet, Klaus and Sunny and their love for each other that help them survived up until the end despite of the unfortunate events that happened to them. The unsatisfying part only is that it didn't give more details about the parents of the three siblings and what really happened to Count Olaf in the end, but I'm well aware that this film is just the beginning of the book series so the ending might make the viewers left hanging. It also has a series in Netflix but I still want to watch Jim Carrey to act as Count Olaf, but I have respect for Neil Patrick Harris. This is one of my favorite films that I have watched when I was a child and would still watchedu p to this day.
