If you saw "The Revenant" and liked the gritty realism in that movie , you will love this one .... and it's not by chance , as both shared the same screenwriter. Filmed in the open , in the elements , with the cold , the snow , the wet and the landscape leaping through your screen. Wrapped around the darkest chapter in Mormon history , the film is intense and it is violent , as it brings together the clash of Mormon religion , Native Americans , white pioneers moving through, bounty hunters , U-S government military and attempting to survive the complex mix. For me , easily a five star achievement in film making.
