I went into Jennie’s Ruby expecting a bold artistic statement, but instead, I got an album that felt more like a fashion editorial—pretty on the surface but lacking real substance. The production is undeniably sleek, and her voice is as polished as ever, but the songs themselves feel empty, like they’re missing the emotional weight that makes great music stick with you. Tracks like Like Jennie and Zen had potential, but they ended up sounding repetitive and overproduced. Even the big-name collaborations felt wasted, with neither the featured artists nor Jennie herself leaving a strong impression. I kept waiting for a moment that would grab me, but it never came. For an artist with such presence, Ruby felt disappointingly hollow. 1/5 stars.
