After reading I feel blessed to have experienced a more universal view of Jesus than Mr. Yancey had as his foundation. The title serves well for those who had been shielded from a more authentic Jesus. While not always in tune with his stories, for various reasons, I came to appreciate Yancey’s points about needing to examine Bible stories more closely to discover lessons Jesus provides.
