This book is so bad. I tried to love it because Tiktok hyped about it like crazy. I can never empathize with the main character (Kenna). She knew she was drunk, she knew she was high and still decided to drive. She got into an accident and because she loved her boyfriend (Scotty) so much, she ran away, not even called 911, which led to his death????? How does that even make sense??? How can we forgive her like it was nothing? How can the author expect us to feel bad for her like she was innocent? The author also wrote it so it seems like Scotty’s parents should feel bad because they hate Kenna. If I were Scotty’s parents, Kenna should be thankful she is alive. And then she made out with her deceased boyfriend’s bestfriend (Ledger) knowing exactly who he is. Then Ledger was trying to justify Kenna’s action and saying like How can Scotty’s parents so mad at Kenna, Kenna lost her boyfriend too. So what??? She left him there to die, she basically killed him. This book is so bad I dont understand how people even like this. And the author wrote 99% of the book about the problem and the situation, leaving 1% at the end where all problems were magically resolved within 5 pages.
