As a huge fan of the Dream King and of Neil Gaiman in general, I have been excited for this series. It does not disappoint. The cinematography is gorgeous, Tom Sturridge is perfect as Morpheus, and it's a delight to see this story unfold. I find it an excellent adaptation and the changes have mostly just added interest for me.
The only complaints I see are that it is "too woke" (a phrase that immediately discredits the reviewer and shows plainly they are no fan of Gaiman). These reviewers seem to object to representation of anyone that is different from them. Unless you feel the same, you're safe in ignoring their reviews.
Dive in and enjoy the tragic tale of the Prince of Stories, Kai'ckul, Lord Shaper, King of the Nightmare Realms, Monarch of the Sleeping Marches, King of All Night's Sleeping - The Sandman.
