Wow. This was horrible. I was mad almost immediately at this movie because of how much I loved the first one. I was impressed by the technical aspects of the film, with its picture quality and atmos mix. But that is it. This is what a movie by fans would make that know nothing about film structure or good story telling. To make a movie that DEMANDS that you've seen the first is pretty lousy writing. Take Bladerunner 2049. Beautiful amazing movie that doesn't need the support of the first movie to do well. It was it's own thing. It stood on it's own very well in the Bladerunner universe. Not this. If you haven't seen the first movie (and good lord do they shove it down your throat), you will be hopelessly lost. That is incompetent writing at its worst (finest?). What a disappointment. I wish they had never made this. The trailer looked pretty good. If you love Matrix, watch the trailer and STOP THERE. Also, these early reviews have people from their own studio reviewing themselves. That's shameful and should tell you something. Avoid.
