I saw it tomorrow.
This is just a tale of never ending loops.
Tenet is so impressive, this is my first time watching a Nolan movie. To start with, please do not read the negative reviews given to this complex movie, they are just lazy fools who want to sit and enjoy boring and dead cliche flicks. Times have changed and no more spoonfeeding is needed. This is something ahead of its time.
The movie opens up with an amazing yet confusing bang, with a calm audience being suddenly seized by a group of Ukrainian rascals. John David Washington as the Protagonist is dashing but he lacks emotion at times but I think he retains those at the end..........
[SPOILER ALERT, PLEASE]
...............when he parts with Neil, played by Robert Pattinson , who is also equally awesome and dedicated in his role. The cliche stereotypical Russian villain in Kenneth Branagh was, in my opinion, the least catching character in this Nolan time bender. Elizabeth Debicki does all the crying stuff, but is dignified. Michael Caine was nice to see in his only scene. Others like Himesh Patel, Aaron Taylor-Johnson or even Clemence Poesy who does the exposition part , don't make much dents here.
Hoyte van Hoytema's cinematography was crisp and clear, mostly it is IMAX and also because it is shot in such gorgeous locations like the colorful streets of Mumbai or the peaceful Amalfi coast.
One huge difference between this and other Nolan movies, is the Zimmer touch but it's wonderfully replaced by another young talent in the Oscar-winner Ludwig Goransson. Like I said before, please do not read the negative reviews regarding the soundtrack, decribing it as ''loud'' or ''jarring'', but in my opinion, it is appropriate for a movie which is equally grand and cinematic.
The editing by Jennifer Lame is heavy on speed, with most scenes feeling like blink-or-miss moments but it's all visually pleasing to watch.
Here, the biggest reason for this movie is Nolan, no doubt and this is his most expensive and most complicated movie till date. Very fast paced action sequences including the inverted car and the famous 747 crash will be, my personal favorite sequences in the movie. Also, the temporal pincer sequence feels very sophisticated and hard to get along but at the end we get to know. The sound mix is also not up to point with some key dialogues being covered up by other heavy background noises, but with the help of subtitles, you can easily get going.
Overall, it is a theatre-only experience, or to be precise, IMAX-only experience. It will be truly sad to negatively review this movie and praise other undeserving movies, because very few know the real hard work taken by poor Nolan and his dedicated crew.
Would definitely recommend it to you, have an excellent time experiencing Tenet, hope you will enjoy it as I did!!
