The trailer is great but the movie is pure trash. The first 20 minutes or so is with flashbacks from prior Halloween movies that ultimately don’t mean much and is a let down. I think this movie is being called a success because a lot of people saw the trailer and then viewed the movie, the latter of which is true. I also think a lot of people left feeling duped. The firefighters deaths scene really forces you to stretch your already stretched imagination to the point of incredulity. I know this sounds awful but at one point before a murder I was thinking to myself get on with it (car scene). Even with all of the murders the movie didn’t seem like it belonged in the horror genre. It seemed amateurish. I wasn’t expecting the direction of this movie to be so terrible. Greer and Curtis are always great and they deserved better than this mess. I’ll leave you with a quote from the movie: “Michael Myers is over there in our car, go check it out.” That line was delivered with a straight face and was not meant to be flippant.
