Good movie slightly let down by uneven pacing. I will watch it again before forming a final judgement, but on the whole I felt this was slightly dumbed down and hollywood-ized compared to part one, resulting in something that while still good is not as slick or true to the source material as the first. I think Denis Villeneuve's directorial style works best in movies likes Dune part 1 and Blade Runner 2049 that are given space to breathe and get immersed in the brilliant cinematography often seen in his films. And the set and costume design in the second part, while still good, was imo a notch below that of part 1. It's also undermined by its pacing, with stretches of story and exposition followed by jarring action sequences. The transitions seemed a lot smoother in part 1, which felt more impactful even though arguably less happens in it, while this felt a bit hollow by the end. Overall not a bad movie at all, but I thought part 1 was a masterpiece so a bit of a let down in that regard.
