"The casting and CGI were horrible; so gloomy; don’t waste your money; the singing sucked." If you don’t want to waste your money watching it, that’s OK. But you don’t have to lie about it. It’s never that deep. It’s just a movie made for kids.
At first, I was surprised to find out Ariel was black and a little spectacled when I saw Flounder and heard Sabastian's voice. I went in with no biases, and I ended up loving the movie. All the characters grew on me! Even Sebastian. I'm not for "race swapping", and I wouldn't consider myself woke, but the movie was 10/10. Also, if you watched interviews, the director cast Ariel because he loved her voice. He said they were all emotional after her performance. So it wasn't to be "woke". Ariel doesn’t talk as much in the movie, so it makes sense for them to cast someone with an amazing voice.
So many people are mad because Ariel is black. Someone wrote, "The movie was so dark, they couldn’t see anything." 💀 Please. I saw another comment stating that the prince and Ariel had no chemistry, but they added more scenes of them together and gave them things in common. We got to see them hang out. Another person said the singing was bad. Please cut the cap. I feel like the majority of the people commenting did not even watch the movie because everyone is typing the same thing but paraphrasing it. I was disturbed by the amount of racism in the comments. It’s scary how many racists come out when these types of things happen.
Grow up. It’s a movie about a human fish. Life is never that serious. All the cast and crew already got their paychecks, so you’re wasting your time. Also, it’s a live-action remake, so things have to be a bit realistic. They can’t make the animals as cute or the environment as bright. If you liked the original and watched the movie with no biases, you’ll probably give this three stars at least.
People were hating on this movie before it even came out. People are claiming it’s because Ariel’s hair isn’t bright red and they made changes. It’s a live-action remake; what remake didn’t make some changes? Even Cinderella’s life action made some changes; why didn't anyone complain? We have Spider-Man from different universes, but that didn't make the first Spider-Man any less important or replace him. All can coexist. TLM live-action remake is a great movie that's definitely worth watching. The visuals are stunning, the acting is great, and the singing is top-notch. You’re entitled to your opinion, and not liking the movie doesn’t make you racist. But at least have a good reason to hate it. And actually watch it first before you become a keyboard warrior. It's never that serious. 😂💗
