The writing is very weak and the editing is totally disjointed. Briliant cast, beautiful sets, costumes and catchy musical numbers. Sometimes the story just cuts to another scene and they do not spend enough time doing any one thing instead just taking from lots of existing tropes. Honestly the movie could've been better. Also Jeronicus is not a good person and his motivations are more of that of the bad guy then an actual good person.

Should’ve tried to do something new instead of taking loved well crafted characters and twist their tales to suit a badly constructed hodgepodge narrative. Disappointing as an adaptation.

It was fine. The first hour really engaging, exciting and then I think Scarlet gets lost between her family which I found more entertaining and interesting in comparison.
