I DO NOT FOLLOW THE NEWS ANYMORE, THIS REVIEW IS SOLEY ABOUT THE MOVIE, I HAVE NO FEELINGS TOWARD ANY OF THE ACTORS IN IT! I DON'T HAVE TIME TO INVEST IN OTHER CHOICES PEOPLE MAKE. I WISH I DID!
I enjoyed "A Simple Favor", was excited to see the sequel......I adore and can relate to both characters in this film. Emily (Hope), she is smart, cunning, she draws you in knowing you cant trust her (I've known a few Emily's in my day), she radiates confidence while making glamour appear; simple, natural and effortless, living her life raising her son, kicking ass at her high intense, powerful career, with a supportive husband at home. I'm totally jealous of Emily Nelson's life as it appears.
Now, Stephanie is so full of energy; she loves, embraces, and makes it appear so simple to be a single widowed mom (as one myself of 3 kids - I wish I had her energy, passion and drive to raise kids by yourself, I don't). It's hard to find friends who understand and can relate to your situation as a single widowed mom. I also struggle finding a connection with other moms. I don't get breaks on daddy day's, or have a partner to take on some of my parenting duties. I wish I had the luxury of life insurance to fall back on, but I don't. Stephanie appears nieve, lost and lonely, almost bored to a point. Stephanie is very cunning, crazy aware of her surroundings, witty and hilarious once she is comfortable enough to let her guard down. I love the fact that Stephanie knows she appears vulnerable and ditzy, she uses it to her advantage. Both of these characters are strong, elegant and beautiful, they draw you in knowing it's dangerous to get so close.
I was so excited to see these 2 characters together again, to see what trouble they could stir up, challenge eachother, force one another to the edge and see what mess they create doing so, I was disappointed in the end. The story was boring, it was obvious where this story line was headed so early on, I kept thinking this is it, with these 2 strong characters and this is what you gave them. Wow, I'm not sure why they delivered this, we've seen it a 1000 times in movies. Acting was "meh", fashion fabulous, story was boring. This movie is nothing to be excited except some of the fashion they show - that was it. They should veto this film, I want a "do - over", re-do this film with a crafty, cunning, sexy, storyline! I want to be jealous of these 2 characters again, instead it was a sad, sad waste of my time!
