The movie was okay. If you read the book, which I did, you would see that the movie doesn’t really follow the book at all. The drama between Simon and Hayes and the fact that Daniel and Ava actually get married in the book were completely left out. The acting was good; Haye, Solene, and August Moon were great! Izzy, on the other hand, was supposed to be 12; in the movie, she was 17, and she was also supposed to love August Moon. Her love for August Moon in the book is why there is so much tension and issues about her mom and Hayes’ relationship. If you choose not to read the book, you will love the movie, but if you have read it, from the minute the movie starts, you will see that it strays from the book completely.
