If you place your expectations on the shelf of "low budget, indie" horror, you will not be disappointed in this film. If you expect jump scares, gore, and a monster, move right along.
A husband and wife arrive at a large Victorian house where they are greeted by the husband's brother who is very much already on edge. There is already an awkwardness (dysfunction) there that is heightened when the brother who owns the house shows the couple that he has the devil locked up in a room in the basement.
It's a "slow burn" but with a lot of despair in the atmosphere. This is its main objective- to make you feel lost, uncertain, and trapped. It does suffer from some erratic editing and unrealistic dialogue at times, however, the tension is palpable.
You do have to pay attention to the what dialogue there is especially when the "sick?" brother explains his motivation.
It has it's flaws, but still a worth watching for the atmosphere and the ending.
