Well, thanks to this movie the Viet Nam war seems very close. In the dialouge a character mentions 1971 which seem like centuries ago, but he looks very young despite being in his late 60s. In real life the actor was 15 back then. Something about him makes it seem like he was talking about events just a couple of years ago, what a great casting choice.
